The technical equipment present includes a telegraph receiver manufactured for Western Union; a telegraph key used for sending Morse code, manufactured by the Vibroplex Company; a Western Union call box; a porcelain guy strain insulator used on wires; samples of telegraph cable manufacturing by Richard S. Waring of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; samples of the transatlantic cable laid by John William Mackay’s Commercial Cable Company in 1884 and recovered in 1909; and a sample of Type A transatlantic telephone cable of the type laid in 1955.
