Postcards include those sent for holidays and special occasions including Christmas, New Year’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and birthdays. Also present is a postcard from the magazine Scientific American, promoting the demonstration of a “Magneto-Electro Machine” (1878). Subseries also contains a collection of “Telegraph Post-Cards” with designs modeled after telegrams and inscribed with a variety of stock phrases.
