William M. Morris, Ball Town, to Thomas Butler Esq., NYC, 1807-05-18
File — Box: 1, Folder: 1
Scope and Contents
Typed copy. Writes of De Witt Clinton, of whom he says "if he is not the nominal, he is the real Governor of the State"; gives reasons for the future importance of the Apian Way to New York City--all the territories can best be supplied by a road such as this - thus people will become carriers on the road, giving rise to competition and the trader will be able to make better terms. "The same thing will take place on the lakes."
