Cornell University Library Director correspondence
Correspondence mainly concerning the appointment of Stephen A. McCarthy as Director of Cornell University Library in 1946. Other topics covered include the appointment of Giles Shepherd as the Library's Assistant Director, and subsequent actions by the University's Board of Trustees relating to the Library. Correspondents include McCarthy, Cornell University President Edmund E. Day, and Secretary of the Board of Trustees Robert B. Meigs, among others.
Edmund Ezra Day papers
The major portion of the collection consists of administrative files of the offices of the president, 1937-1949, and the chancellor, 1949-1950, of Cornell. In addition, three small series in the collection contain Day's correspondence with the Social Science Research Council, 1937-1941; Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association, 1927-1942; and Teaching Film Custodians, Inc., 1936-1942.
