Scope and content

Includes one page titled "The prophet of the Allegheny," which is a description of meeting Red Jacket. A hymn in Mohawk, signed by Daniel Bread, dated February 13, 1829. Another letter in Mohawk signed by Daniel Bread. Also included is a Cherokee hymn book published by the American Baptist Publication Society, 1896. The items come with a letter explaining their provenance from Mary Benson Mann Adams, the great grand daughter of Joel Benson, dated February 20, 1944.
