A typescript of the diary of Col. John P. Sanderson who served in the 13th Infantry Division of the United States Army during the Civil War. It includes accounts of the role he and his division played in the Kentucky and Tennessee campaigns in 1863. A large portion of the diary is devoted to his description of the Battle of Chickamauga.
