Includes letters (1813-1819) to William Hill on the European market for American cotton, flaxseed, potash, etc.; four letters (1851-1852) to Margaret Hill from Anna McNeill Whistler mentioning the poor health of the artist James Whistler and his favorable reactions to life at West Point;
