Scope and content

Letter, 1868, from Hamilton to his father describing conditions and events at the University during the first term of instruction, particularly a packing crate fire that roused faculty, students, and townspeople on a winter's night; letter from Andrew Dickson White to Hamilton, 1913, thanking him for a friendly note and commenting on the graduation activities in progress at Cornell at the time of his writing.
