The Morse Chain Company was incorporated in 1898 and manufactured power transmission equipment. Its subsidiaries, the Thomas Morse Aircraft Corporation (founded in 1917), the Peters-Morse Manufacturing Company (founded in 1919), and the Barr-Morse Corporation (founded in 1921, manufactured aircrafts, adding machines, and typewriters, respectively.
